“If I knew how to take a good picture, I would always do it” is a series of seminars organized by Andrea Tomicich and Giuseppe Mussardo at SISSA. From 18th May to 15th June 2017, every Thursday the speakers will lead the audience into a fascinating world that will merge the story of great photographers, and their memorable pictures, with the history of this beautiful art form. The first seminar is entitled “Flash of lights. The first great photographers” and is scheduled for Thursday 18 May.
Tomicich and Mussardo will present the way photography has changed from the early beginning to today, both as an accurate memory of reality and a fascinating art form. First steps in photography will be analyzed through the work of Nicéphore Niépce e Luis Daguerre. The seminar will then move on to some great shots taken by photographers like Alfred Stieglitz, Margareth Bourke-White and Berenice Abbott. All details about technical advancement related to the camera will be discussed in depth. “Se sapessi come si fa una buona fotografia, la farei sempre” è il ciclo di seminari organizzati da Andrea Tomicich e Giuseppe Mussardo alla SISSA. Dal 18 maggio al 15 giugno, ogni giovedì, cinque diversi incontri saranno l’occasione per parlare di grandi fotografe e fotografi, di scatti memorabili e di alcuni grandi temi di quest’arte raffinata. Cinque appuntamenti pensati per appassionati e semplici curiosi, in cui la storia della fotografia si intreccerà con quella dei suoi protagonisti. Primo incontro il 18 maggio, con il seminario intitolato “Lampi di luce. I primi grandi fotografi”.
Dai primi esperimenti ottocenteschi al giorno d'oggi, la fotografia è cambiata in ogni aspetto ma ha sempre continuato a mostrare la sua affascinante ambivalenza, quella di essere memoria fedele della realtà e di mostrare il suo grande potenziale artistico. Si parlerà dei primi passi nel mondo della fotografia compiuti da Nicéphore Niépce e Luis Daguerre, per poi illustrare alcuni scatti famosi di Alfred Stieglitz, Margareth Bourke-White e Berenice Abbott, seguendo poi in dettaglio tutti i progressi fatti nel corso degli anni nel campo della macchina fotografica vera e propria.
