SISSA offers the opportunity for national and international students to access SISSA's specialized doctoral courses and activities.
All visiting students must already be enrolled in a PhD program in their home institution at the time of their arrival at SISSA.
Visiting students are expected to attend the non-individual courses and/or activities in the SISSA Ph.D. group of interest, as well as to participate to seminars and other activities while at SISSA.
No SISSA supervisor is envisioned for visiting students, that should pursue research in accord to their supervisor in the home institution as their primary research activity while at SISSA.
Visiting students must:
- Apply for a temporary resident visa (if needed) and have it in place before travelling to Italy. Please consider current Visa processing times when planning your visit.
- Purchase international health insurance (if needed) covering the duration of their visit - Arrange for their own transportation from the home institution to SISSA and back.
- At the end of their stay provide a report of the work done at SISSA, including courses and activities attended, publications, talks, collaborations, and an overall evaluation of their visit.
Selected visiting students receive:
- Up to 500 euros per month as a contribution to local expenses.
- A SISSA badge and free access to all SISSA facilities.
