Plenary Lecture | Themes & Motifs in Theoretical High Energy Physic

A seminar by Alberto Lerda of Università del Piemonte Orientale.

The discovery of the Higgs boson at LHC and the detection of gravitational waves at LIGO/VIRGO are two important confirmations, respectively, of the Standard Model of elementary particles and of the theory of General Relativity. Despite these remarkable successes, several key fundamental questions still await an answer. In his talk Alberto Lerda will review some of the most significant open problems in high energy physics and the challenges they pose for theoretical physicists. In the final part of the talk he will try to briefly summarize my most recent research activity and put it into the general context of the above-mentioned open problems and challenges.

The seminar will take place online via Zoom platform. Access details will be provided in due course.

The video recording will be made available later on.
