Soroptimist International d'Italia is organising a free three-day training course for young women titled Futuro al Femminile: Women Driving Progress. The course is part of a joint project between Soroptimist International d’Italia and Bocconi University and will be hosted by SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milano. 

Applications are now open for the 15th edition of the Premio Nazionale GiovedìScienza, aimed at early-career researchers (under 35) who wish to give visibility to their work and engage in science communication. The competition offers cash prizes, training opportunities, and occasions to interact with the public and the school community.

Within the framework of their Collaboration Protocol, the Camera dei Deputati and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei have established a joint programme of cultural and scientific initiatives aimed at fostering informed reflection on the transformations underway in contemporary society and on the role of democratic institutions in governing innovation. In this context, particular attention is given to the contribution of the new generations of scholars, called to address today’s challenges from an interdisciplinary perspective.

On 25 January 2016, Giulio Regeni was abducted in Cairo. Giulio was a PhD student in Political and International Studies at the University of Cambridge and was in Egypt to carry out his research. His tortured body was found on 3 February on the outskirts of the capital. From that tragic event began a long diplomatic, investigative, and judicial process that, even today, has reached neither a conclusion nor answers.

Italian Academy Fellowships at Columbia University – Call for Applications 2026/27

The Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University has opened the call for its 2026–27 Fellowship Program. The fellowships support research in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, and are open to scholars of all nationalities.

ARDiS offers grants of up to €300 per student to cover registration fees, public-transport travel, meals and accommodation for participation in international competitions following qualification rounds. Eligible applicants are students enrolled at universities/degree-level institutions, AFAM and ITS with registered office in Friuli Venezia Giulia; funds are awarded until the budget is exhausted. 

Eligible period: competitions held from 01/09/2024 to 31/12/2027; by way of first-application derogation, events between 01/01/2024 and 31/08/2024 are also eligible. 

Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) has announced a reform of the diplomatic recruitment exam. 

The exam will be open to all Master’s graduates, regardless of degree class. The reform strengthens cross-disciplinary skills for a rapidly changing geopolitical and technological landscape, reinforcing economic, financial and especially commercial components. The oral exam will include new subjects: cybersecurity, promotion of Italian culture, institutional communication, and major event management.

The Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei has published the calls for applications for the 2026 Prizes, which include awards in a wide range of disciplines:

Applications are now open for 1 research fellowship in the technical and management area at the Scientific Directorate – Technology Transfer Office of the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico (CRO) in Aviano, as part of the Life Science TTO Network – PerfeTTO programme. The fellowship, lasting one year and renewable, offers an annual gross remuneration of €26,200.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has published a call for expressions of interest to serve as Expert with duties as Scientific Attaché for Space Activities at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi.
