Applications are now open for 1 research fellowship in the technical and management area at the Scientific Directorate – Technology Transfer Office of the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico (CRO) in Aviano, as part of the Life Science TTO Network – PerfeTTO programme. The fellowship, lasting one year and renewable, offers an annual gross remuneration of €26,200.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has published a call for expressions of interest to serve as Expert with duties as Scientific Attaché for Space Activities at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi. 

The deadline for applications is 17 July 2025.

The national competition “#UniPerDonare. Universities for voluntary blood and plasma donation” opens today, Wednesday 2 July. Promoted by the Italian Ministry of Health, the initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of voluntary donation. Participation is free and open to all students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programmes at universities that are part of the CRUI network.

SISSA has published the new Open Science Guidelines, updating the regulations on thesis self-archiving and Open Access to align with the latest national and international policies. The document is based on the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation, the 2022 National Plan for Open Science, and European and Italian directives on open data and research management. These guidelines define the framework for data management, open access to publications, and long-term preservation in institutional repositories.

Soroptimist International d'Italia is organising a free three-day training course for young women titled Futuro al Femminile: Women in Leadership. The course is part of a joint project between Soroptimist International d’Italia and Bocconi University and will be hosted by SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milano. 

SCOAP3 – the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics – is an initiative launched by CERN, representing an international scientific collaboration among public research institutions and universities. SISSA has been a partner of the initiative since its inception, sharing in its mission to reduce the costs associated with publishing and subscribing to scientific journals.

Aspen Institute Italia has announced the tenth edition of the “Award for scientific research and collaboration between Italy and the United States”. 

Applications are now open for the prizes awarded by the International Balzan Foundation for 2025,which will be awarded in the following four subjects: 

  • Sciences of Antiquity: Revisited Athenian Democracy 

  • Contemporary Art History 

  • Atoms and Ultra-Precise Time Measurement 

  • Gene Therapy or Genetically Modified Cell Therapy

The Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei has announced several prestigious awards for 2025, offering an excellent opportunity for professors, researchers, and young scholars to gain recognition for their work. Notable awards include:

  • The "Gioacchino Iapichino" Award for a published or unpublished work in Mathematical Analysis;
  • The "Alfredo Di Braccio" Award for scholars in Physics;
  • The "Tito Maiani" Award for theses in Physics
