Quale futuro lavorativo per chi si laurea nelle materie scientifiche in Italia? [...] Il dott. Giuseppe Legname , per la Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA), ha portato l'esperienza di questa peculiare realtà giuliana, osservando che è difficile intuire quali saranno i lavori del futuro con riferimento ad esempio all'avvento di nuove tecnologie come le intelligenze artificiali.

"Dalla medicina all'industria, dalla farmaceutica alla genetica, alla scienza dei materiali. Sono alcuni degli ambiti di applicazione del supercalcolo, che può avere sviluppi non solo nella ricerca di base, ma anche nel rapporto tra il mondo della ricerca e quello delle imprese". Sono questi, come spiega Andrea Romanino, direttore della Scuola internazionale di di Studi superiori avanzati (Sissa) gli obiettivi che hanno convinto la stessa Scuola a partecipare al Progetto del supercomputer Leonardo, inaugurato nel novembre 2022, nel Tecnopolo di Bologna.

[...] La Fondazione Giovanni Armenise Harvard nasce con l'obiettivo di sostenere la ricerca di base in campo biomedico. Aiuta i giovani scienziati che lavorano all'estero a stabilire il loro laboratorio in Italia e sostiene vari programmi di ricerca alla Harvard Medical School di Boston. [...] Ad oggi, il programma CDA (Career Development Award) ha sostenuto 30 giovani scienziati. I CDA hanno istituito laboratori a Milano (IEO, IFOM/FIRC, Istituto San Raffaele, Università di Milano, CNR), Roma (La Sapienza, EBRI), Padova (VIMM, Università di Padova), Trento (Dipartimento CIBIO, Università di Trento), Palermo (Università di Palermo), Trieste (SISSA) [...].
