FameLab is back in Trieste: the city will host the local selection of the international competition challenging young scientists with the talent of communication to tell in just 3 minutes the object of his or her study, or a scientific topic they are interested in.
The selection will take place on Thursday 23 April 2026, at 6 p.m. at Teatro Miela in Trieste. The event is free and open to the public.
Contestants will have to tell a scientific topic in a clear, engaging and understandable way, even for a non-expert audience. No projections, graphs or videos: at their disposal only 3 minutes and a handful of words, and their own communicative talent, to convince the jury and convey the fascination of scientific research.
Entries are due by 16 April 2026, through online registration form. The top two winners of FameLab Trieste will receive a cash prize and take part in an international masterclass, scheduled to take place in Perugia this summer, followed by the national final competition. The winner of the national competition will receive a cash price and have access to the international competition in November, where he/she willl compete against the winners from the other participating countries.
