SISSA’s Library System has been selected among the Italian institutions that will host in 2025 Supercharged by AI | Synthetic and out of control, an international exhibition produced by IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) and EMIF (European Media Information Fund), in collaboration with Tactical Tech and the DensityDesignLab at Politecnico di Milano, and promoted in Italy by AIB – the Italian Library Association.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping everyday life, focusing on four key areas: online scams, harassment, political influence and stereotyping. After travelling through ten European countries, Supercharged by AI will be on display at SISSA from 2 to 19 December, in the ground-floor atrium.
To mark the opening of the exhibition, on 12 December at 14:00 (Room 128–129) SISSA will host “Agentic AI, Large Language Models and research: panel discussion”. Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how we learn, write, work and even conceive research. While its potential is clear, so too are the risks of relying on technologies developed and governed by a small number of private actors with limited accountability.
During the event, three SISSA faculty members – Domenica Bueti, Antonio Lerario and Roberto Trotta – will share their perspectives in an open discussion with the public, introduced and moderated by Guido Sanguinetti.
The programme will continue as follows:
- 15:30 – Guided visit to the exhibition
- 16:00 – Aperitif
The initiative is jointly organised by the Data Science and Theory Group, the Interdisciplinary Laboratory, the Library and the CUG, with the support of the SISSA Directorate.
