SISSA is actively participating in the second edition of Università Svelate - Giornata Nazionale delle Università 2025, scheduled for Thursday, March 20. This initiative, dedicated this year to the relationship between universities and their surrounding communities, is promoted by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) and sponsored by the Ministry of University and Research.
On this occasion, the SISSA, with the support of the Municipality of Trieste, will organize a special edition of its science outreach and orientation program, SISSA for Schools.
In the morning, the institute will host a class from the Liceo Scientifico Sacro Cuore of Modena. The program will include an introduction to the SISSA and the path of doctoral research, followed by an interactive seminar titled "The Complexity of the Obvious: Natural and Artificial Vision." The seminar, led by two PhD students in cognitive neuroscience, will take students on a journey exploring the study of vision, bridging neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Afterwards, students will take part in a guided tour of the institute, accompanied by researchers, to learn about the history of the SISSA and the scientific system of Trieste.
This year, the "Università Svelate" initiative has received significant recognition from the President of the Republic, who awarded a medal to the CRUI in acknowledgment of the crucial role that Italian universities play in fostering growth and the well-being of society.
