Tackling the challenges of new materials and complex molecular systems: this is what the new “Materials and Molecular Sciences” spoke, presented in Rome on October 11th and financed thanks to PNRR funds, will be dealing with.

Led by the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in collaboration with SISSA, the spoke is also comprised of ten affiliated entities (Universities of Milan Bicocca, Trieste, Turin, Pisa, Florence, Trento, Calabria, Turin Polytechnic, SISSA and ENEA) and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

The spoke is part of the Italian National Research Centre in High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing, which is divided in ten thematic areas. The Centre is composed by hubs, each of which is tasked with validating and managing research programmes, and spokes, which develop and implement projects through open calls for institutions and companies.

Stefano Baroni of SISSA will be in charge of the spoke together with the director of Istituto Officina dei Materiali, Stefano Fabris.
