The talk is the story of Prof.Kosterlitz's random walk through physics via Cambridge, Oxford, Turin and Birmingham finishing up at Brown University. He describes his very crooked path through life including physics and his other life as a mountaineer. He also includes a somewhat simplified version of his prize winning work. The talk will be followed by a question/answer session.
John Michael Kosterlitz is Professor of Physics at Brown University. He was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics.
