The SISSA Open Day is back: a celebration of science open to the whole city, designed to bring the public closer to the world of research and to life at the School. Why does the Universe fascinate us and help us understand who we are? What does mathematics study when numbers come to an end? How does the brain keep track of the passing of time?
These are just some of the questions that SISSA researchers will explore on Thursday, 2 July, starting at 5:00 p.m., during an afternoon dedicated to curiosity, discovery, and encounters with science.
The event will take place entirely in the School’s garden, which for the occasion will be transformed into a large “Science Picnic” open to visitors of all ages. Through short talks, interactive activities, and opportunities to meet and talk with scientists, participants will embark on a journey through the many research topics explored at SISSA, from the Universe to the brain.
There will also be plenty of activities for younger visitors, including the “Science Snacks”, a series of workshops and games for children aged 0 to 14, organised by SISSA Medialab and “La SISSA dei Piccoli” nursery school, run by the Or.s.a. Cooperative.
To round off the day in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. participants will be invited to enjoy an aperitif offered by the School, accompanied by music from DJ Andre Joshua.
Don't miss it!
