Con 120 amministrativi, 130 ricercatori, 70 docenti e 300 studenti iscritti a uno dei suoi 12 dottorati la Sissa è una scuola relativamente piccola, ma i suoi docenti sono tra i più bravi d'Italia a reperire fondi: sono 25 i finanziamenti Erc vinti da docenti Sissa dal 2007 a oggi.
