progetto PRO-BEN

As part of the PRO-BEN project, SISSA is launching a new group counselling programme designed to support PhD students, research fellows, and postdocs in their psychological well-being and in managing everyday challenges.

The first session, scheduled for Tuesday, 25 March at 5:00 PM in room 128-129 at SISSA, will introduce the project and the planned activities.

PRO-BEN is a project promoted by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) aimed at promoting psychological well-being and emotional support in academic institutions, providing practical tools to address the difficulties encountered in the context of research and academia.

The group counselling service "HOW ARE YOU? Let’s talk about mental health" is part of the activities proposed by the CUG (Comitato Unico di Garanzia) and will initially focus on two main topics:

  1. Managing stress and anxiety
Stress and anxiety are common experiences in academic life. This series of meetings will help participants recognise their signs, understand their impact, and develop strategies for effective management. It will also provide an opportunity for discussion and sharing, with practical exercises to improve psychological and physical well-being.
  2. Assertive communication and effective relationships
Clear and effective communication is essential for managing interpersonal relationships. This group will offer tools to enhance assertive communication, reduce misunderstandings, and improve daily interactions, with the support of practical exercises.

In the coming months, additional topics will be explored, offering a structured and diverse pathway to promote well-being within the SISSA community.
