In the near future, when the night sky is blighted by internet satellites, middle manager Virgil makes a disturbing discovery: the ads he’s running for the satellites company hide a mysterious pattern that might be responsible for the pandemic of compulsive shopping his wife is also suffering from. Will the help of a teenager and AI be enough to solve the riddle?

From 8 to 12 September, the Miramare Castle in Trieste and the Fortress of Gradisca will be transformed into exceptional videomapping sets with "LIBRA: una storia futura". "LIBRA: una storia futura" is born from the collaboration between SISSA astrophysicist Roberto Trotta and the director Gigi Funcis. Thanks to holograms, visual effects, artificial intelligence and actors, the show brings together theater and astronomy, science and fiction, questions on the present and reflections on the future. LIBRA's exceptional guests will be Carlo Rovelli, Piergiorgio Odifreddi, and the archaeo-astronomer Ed Krupp... in very special video appearances.

LIBRA is organized by SISSA as part of the fifth edition of the SISSA Summer Festival, in collaboration with the Museo Storico e il Parco del Castello di Miramare andthe Italian Ministry of Culture, with the patronage of Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Associazione Science IndustriesComune di Duino Aurisina, GAL Carso, Imperial College London, together with Invisible Cities, Dispar Pixels, Delta Process, SISSA Medialab, Vitamina T are also part of the project. The event is a pre event of Sharper - Notte Europea dei Ricercatori, Trieste.
