Sissa election results: 60 votes for Romanino, 41 for Rumiati

The first vote for the election of the new SISSA Director closed on 5 May 2021 at 4.30 pm. The neuroscientist Raffaella Ida Rumiati and the theoretical physicist Andrea Romanino are the candidates who compete for the mandate, following Stefano Ruffo’s six years.
The results of the first round rank first Andrea Romanino with 60 votes, in second place Raffella Ida Rumiati with 41 votes. 

To be elected in the first round it was asked to exceed two-thirds of the voters. No candidate has reached the required threshold.

The electoral body was made up of 107 people. The voters were 103, the blank ballots 2. The voter turnout was 96,26%. 

The second round will take place on 20 May 2021. The eventual third turn will take place on 30 June and the possible final round on 15 July 2021.
